Archaeological investigations in Bearsden, Glasgow discovered the remains of a previously unknown Roman fortlet associated with the World Heritage Site of the Antonine Wall. These included a section of a linear stone base with kerbing and a section of ditch containing peat deposits, wood, vegetation and insect remains. The ditch is dated from the middle of the 2nd century AD to the middle of the 3rd century AD, i.e. contemporary with the Antonine Wall and its immediate aftermath.
