Rosemarkie revealed exceptional archaeology. An important early Bronze Age burial containing a bear bone was followed by a slightly later cist grave and then later by a settlement of Bronze Age roundhouses. The largest roundhouse was surrounded by a palisade with evidence of metalworking within. A hoard of bronze ornaments and bracelets tied together and packed with organic materials was buried close to this Late Bronze Age settlement.
