Re-examination of the flint assemblage from Lunanhead, Angus, originally suggested to be Neolithic in date, proposes an earlier time frame. Comparison of its large flint blades with those more recently found in Late Upper Palaeolithic assemblages, as well as its raw material, and its operational schema, suggests it is much earlier than thought.
Key words: Late Upper Palaeolithic, flint blades, opposed-platform cores, burins, operational schema.
